Games (for childrens birthday party)
Next you will need to consider your party space, whether it will be inside or outside.
You will need to take this into consideration when deciding on games.....Children love to have a say in games that are played at their party so talk this over with your child.....
Some popular games to play at childrens partys are:
Pass the parcel
Musical chairs
Hit the pinata
Pin the tail on the donkey/pin the butterfly on the flower/pin the tail on T-Rex etc......

Parties are a time to have fun, which means all guests should go home smiling. If you are going to provide prizes, try to reward all players just for participating or avoid prizes all together. Especially when entertaining very young children who have yet to develop a grasp on sportsmanship. Consider playing most, if not all games without prizes but everyone gets a candy or sticker. When all of the games are complete...everyone receives their party bags.

Party Food (for childrens birthday party)

If you want to serve some food, keep the offerings simple. Children always love the favourites like party pies, sausage rolls, cupcakes, chips, fairy bread or sandwiches.
Some other good ideas are biscuits and dip, fruit kebabs, fruit boats, pizza squares, chocolate crackles and jelly's.
Always be aware of any food allergies - its best to avoid anything with nuts as so many children are allergic to them.

Simple Cake Recipes (for childrens birthday party)

 Easy Chocolate cake
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
¾ cups cocoa powder
1 ½ tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 cups sugar
½ cup oil
1 cup boiling water or hot coffee
2 eggs
Method:
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line two 23cm round cake pans, or one 23x33cm rectangular baking pan, with wax paper. Grease the paper and the sides of the pan well.
  2. In a large bowl, sift the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla essence and beat with an electric mixer for about two minutes. Add the boiling water or coffee and mix until combined.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-40 minutes.
  5. To test if the cake is ready, insert a toothpick into the middle of the pan. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. A single rectangular cake will take slightly longer to bake than two round layers.
  6. Slide a knife around the edge of each cake to loosen it from the pan, turn the pan over onto a metal rack and peel off the paper.
  7. Let the cake cool completely before covering with icing.

Basic Sponge Cake

1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
4 eggs beaten
2 cups flour sifted with 2 tsps baking powder
Pinch of salt
3 tbs warm water

Method:

Cream the butter/margarine with the sugar until light and fluffy, and then slowly beat in the eggs. Sift the flour and salt together and fold gently into the egg mixture. Sufficient warm water can be added to make the mixture just drop from a spoon.
Prepare two 8in/ 20cm cake tins (layer pans) by greasing and lining with paper before pouring half the mixture into each tin.
Bake in the centre of the oven at Gas 5, 190 deg C, 375 deg F until golden and risen. When cooked, turn out of the tins and leave to cool completely on a wire rack.
Sandwich the layers together with jam or butter cream. Sprinkle the top with icing (confectioners’) sugar, or drizzle with glace icing and serve with an excellent cup of tea or coffee.
